About

Ryan Schiedermayer ABOUTEvery great musician has their own “sound”, a sound that defines them, a sound that is a part of who they are. For drummer and percussionist Ryan Schiedermayer, the fabric of his musicality is deeply woven in his tonality and ability to be felt in addition to simply being heard – creating layers that provide a rich, rhythmic tapestry sown with precision in time. As a live performer and studio musician Ryan excels in shaping his stylized sound around an artist. “Capturing the soul of the artist and the song is what motivates my technique and style.”

Having worked extensively with an array of acclaimed artists, Ryan is currently the drummer for Sam Llanas (formerly of the Bodeans), and is performing to promote the national release of their latest album The Whole Night Thru in November 2014. As a former co-leader of the Milwaukee Bucks NBA house band Streetlife, Ryan enjoyed 17 years playing drums and percussion for fans at Milwaukee’s Bradley Center. Additional career highlights include performing with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member Richie Furay and Grammy nominated artists Jeff Lorber, Jim Peterik and Ignacio Berroa, travelling worldwide performing USO tours for the United States Armed Forces, and producing his very own solo album Sentido.

Ryan is also a dedicated teacher with over 15 years of experience providing private drum/percussion lessons and conducting clinics for Wisconsin area schools and youth groups. Committed to advancing students interested in music, Ryan founded “Band Together” with Cascio Interstate Music in 2011, a group music program that connects the dots between private instruction and group performance.

Uncompromising in his passion and drive, mastering rhythmic nuances to create a soulful dynamic sound, Ryan plays it from the heart.

Ryan performs with Meinl Percussion and Pearl Drums.
